Dear Member,
We hope that the following guidelines will help to make your days out with the society more enjoyable. Please take the time to read the details below as I believe they will be of benefit to you.
Members will be informed by newsletters and SMS text regarding timesheets and other events that are considered of interest.
The Clontarf Castle Golf Society website (www.ccgs.ie) contains up to the minute news regarding outings.
TIMESHEET NIGHT (SIGN ON NIGHT)
In order to maintain the effective running of the outings; members are required to attend in person to sign-on night. In the event that you cannot be there please ensure that your green fee is paid on the night by a third party. You can avail of a discount for paying on the night (usually €10 off the published price). You cannot avail of the discount if the green-fee has not been paid at the timesheet night (no exceptions)
THE OUTINGS
Cancellation – If you cancel on the day of the outing no refund will be given. Work related issues are not considered valid reasons for missing a game of golf. Cancellations are acceptable up to 24 hours prior to the outing. Refunds are entirely at the discretion of the committee. A phone call must be made to the starter if you have to cancel (phone numbers on member card)
Please report to the starter Bryan Kenny when you arrive at the course and check in.
You must be on the tee and ready to play 15 minutes before you are due to tee off. Failure to do this will cost you a two point penalty in the outing.
The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited on all of the courses that we play. This is a society rule. Infringement of this rule will cost you another two point penalty.
DRESS CODE
Armani /Gucci/Calvin Klein DENIMS regardless of how much you paid for them are not permitted at any Clontarf Castle Golf Society outing. The policy of some clubs may be to permit the wearing of denim; however, to avoid any confusion or embarrassment on this matter, the committee ban remains in place for the foreseeable future.
Smart casual dress is the accepted standard that the society expects at all of the clubs we visit.
PRIZE PRESENTATION
We expect members to attend at the prize presentations. If you are not present to receive your prize the member with the next best score will receive the prize. There are no exceptions to this rule.
CAPTAINS PRIZE
No member is eligible to win the captains prize unless he has completed three society cards within the calendar year of the Captains Prize.
New members are not eligible to win the captains prize in their first year of membership.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION
Scoring for the player of the year completion is calculated as the total of the members best six scores (Stableford Points) returned from the nine outings.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The rules and regulations are contained on the website should you wish to read them in detail (www.ccgs.ie)
Kind regards
Honorary Secretary
