SUTTON & WATERVILLE OUTINGS

Dear Member,

Welcome to another carefully planned season of great golf courses for 2016. On behalf of Captain Joe O’Flaherty and the committee I would particularly like to welcome the return of members who were on leave due to work commitments etc. and of course our new members.

Please check the website for the full listing of courses and dates for the season. You will shortly receive a fixture card containing committee contact numbers and details for all of the outings.

SUTTON

A real winner last year. We have bowed to members opinion and are making a return to Sutton on Friday the 25th. March (Good Friday). Sponsors Aubrey Woolfson (Zara Brands) & Cian Bennis (Annesley Williams) are jointly sponsoring this outing.

This is going to be one with a generous twist. Your green-fee includes a breakfast bap during the round and a private dinner including wine at the conclusion of the outing. The menu, set by Aubrey is just simply breath taking. The prizes as ever will be superb and in addition, Annesley Williams have kindly donated a Mercedes… golf bag to be raffled for our charity fund after dinner. The cost for members who pay at the time-sheet night is €45 all inclusive. Pay late and it will cost you €55.

Please note we are restricted to 60 members for this outing so to avoid disappointment please ensure that you show up at the Castle on time-sheet night; Thursday the 10th March. Please note this is a week earlier than usual to avoid conflicting with St. Patricks day. Time-sheet available in Clontarf Castle on Thursday the 10th March from 8.00pm until 9.30pm.

The Sutton GC outing : Friday the 25th.March

Tee time from 9.30 am.

Format : Singles Stableford competition. Played in four-balls

Please remember winners must be present to receive prizes. If you are not attending the presentation dinner please inform the starter when handing in your card. All cards must be returned regardless of your score.

WATERVILLE OUTING

This outing takes place in May. A non refundable deposit of €100 must be paid before or at the Sutton time-sheet night (10th March).
The time-sheet for this outing filled very quickly at the recently held AGM and, needless to remark, we have more players than available places.
The first 43 of members who were in attendance at the AGM and added their name to the time-sheet will receive preference provided they pay the deposit as requested. Members who were not present and requested that their name be added will also be included if the deposit is paid on or before the night. We also have a waiting list and places will be offered if any slot becomes available due to the non refundable deposit not being received on or before the 10th March.

Please note that due to extra numbers the overall cost has increased slightly as follows.
Killarney two nights B&B plus golf and transport to Waterville €165.00. Please add €45 if you intend playing the Heritage. Balance payable at Baltray time-sheet night.

There is some single room availability in Killarney at a cost of €65. Please nominate your sleeping partner if sharing when paying your deposit.

Members who are on the waiting list can forward a deposit and slots will be allocated subject to availability.  Members who are on the waiting list will receive a text advising their status. In the event that the time-sheet remains full they will be informed and deposits will be returned.

For all members intending to play the Heritage on the way home from Kerry, please advise when paying your initial deposit.

Please forward your deposit for Waterville directly to Anthony Buckley, 22 Kilmore Road, Artane, Dublin, if you are unable to attend the time-sheet for the Sutton outing.

Do not send any mail to the Hon. Secretary as I will be abroad until the 16th. March.

Please be assured that we will do everything within our power to accommodate every member who wants to play in Waterville.

MALLORCA

There are currently six places available for this trip. If you are interested in travelling please contact Michael Brennan for details. Unfortunately due to the rising cost of airfares new bookings will be levied an additional fee.

FINALLY

A date change for the Druids Glen outing. This outing will now take place on Friday the 17th. of June.
