Killeen Castle are to be complimented on their wonderful hospitality. They made sure we were well looked after with breakfast available before golf and a lovely menu for dinner before our prize presentation.
Much appreciation once again to Mark Phelan of Phelan Caswell Insurances who were sponsors for the day and supplied the wonderful wine hampers.
Baltray
The society finally returned to golf in June after a long absence of over a year and a half. It seemed appropriate that we returned to County Louth Golf Club, long-time favourite with the society. We were treated to a beautiful day out on the links, in great condition, with some excellent scoring. Congratulations to Paul Fennelly who returned a fabulous score of 42 points to win the outing and The Memorial Cup, with John Oppermann taking second place with 38 points on a countback over Tadgh O’Meara in third.
Massive thanks to Mick Slein and National Lighting for once again sponsoring our outing to Baltray. The golf club looked after us with the usual excellence – complimentary breakfast baps before golf and the usual fabulous fare served al fresco. We carried out the presentation of prizes from the putting green on a beautiful sunny evening.
