I hope you are all keeping well and as the vaccine roll-out continues at pace, and with the ensuing easing of restrictions, that you are getting to play plenty of golf, perhaps a little wining and dining or whatever else tickles your fancy!
The K Club
The society’s return to The K Club was another great day out for all who could make it. 54 golfers turned out for the Stock Design sponsored outing and were treated to one of the top parkland courses in Ireland, in immaculate condition, but on a tough windy day in Kildare. The greens were immaculate, quick and difficult!. Congratulations to Ray Hughes who wins the outing with a battling 33 points, beating Mick O’Flynn on a countback, with Michael Connolly taking third place with 32 points. Great scoring on a tough day gents!
The K Club made sure everyone was looked after with food available before and after golf. Our sincere gratitude to Brendan Fagan & Stock Design, long term society sponsor, who exceeded himself once again, providing a fantastic selection of prizes, including a gift for everyone there! St. Anne’s
It is with great regret that the Captain has had to make the decision to postpone his Captain’s Day until the end of October in Royal Dublin. Unfortunately, St. Anne’s are not in a position to allow any form of prize presentation within the current guidelines and so the decision was made in the hope that we will have some chance of a get together later in the year which will include the Captain’s prize giving and end of year presentations.
The St. Anne’s outing will of course go ahead as planned on 17 September, tees booked from 10.15am to 12.30pm. Prizes for this outing will be given out at the next prize giving. Green fee is €55 (€15 for St. Anne’s members) which includes entry into the 2’s and a charity donation. The format will be singles stableford, four balls.
