December Update – Anniversary Season

Dear Member,

On behalf of Captain Michael Connolly and the committee, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Christmas. The new year can look after itself and hopefully it will be a good one for you and yours.

Congratulations to all of our winners throughout the 2012 season. Thanks also to all of our sponsors. To the rest of the membership, thanks for turning up to the outings and we hope you enjoyed helping to make it another great year for the society.

Incoming Captain Tony Buckley and the committee are pleased to inform you about the great line-up for the Silver Jubilee year; as follows…

Portmarnock – Friday 22nd March
County Louth Golf Club – Thursday 18th April
Old Head of Kinsale – Friday 10th May
Kinsale Golf Club – Saturday 11th May
Luttrelstown Golf Club – Friday 21st June
Concrawood – Saturday 27th July
Bunclody – Saturday 24th August
Royal Dublin – Friday 13th September
Spain – Wednesday 9th to Sunday 13th October
Portmarnock Links – Saturday 2nd November

The Old Head trip includes two rounds of golf – the second round at Kinsale Golf Club – hotel accommodation for two nights and dinner at Fishy Fishy on the Saturday night. All this for €195.00 per person sharing.

We propose to make the visit to Spain a four day saunter instead of the usual three day sprint. We will play at San Roque old course and one other premier course yet to be decided. Due to changes in the tax rates in Spain we are still in negotiation with the local vendors to secure the best deal for the society. We will advise the cost for this trip at the AGM.

The time-sheet for both away trips will be available at the AGM on  Thursday the 17th. January at 8.00pm in Clontarf Castle. As space is limited, we need a verbal commitment that you are travelling. No money changes hands at the AGM (unless you really want to!). No bookings will be taken before the 17th. January.

A word of caution. If you intend going on both trips it might be a good idea to wait until after the festive season to inform the lady in your life. Ignoring this advice could result in a very very quiet Christmas and as for a trip under the mistletoe. Forget it !!!

On that sober note I wish you every happiness this Christmas.

Regards
Michael Brennan
