I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our 30th. Anniversary year. It is a great privilege for me  to be your Captain for 2018 and I would like to thank you for according me this honour . We are very proud of our great society, which has evolved over the past thirty years and I am pleased to be able to say that we are recognized as one of the best in the country.
The Committee have put together a mouth-watering itinerary for us to enjoy as we celebrate this special year. We will  play  some of the best courses in Ireland, along with the number one course in Spain, PGA De Catalonia Stadium Resort. And if that doesn’t whet your appetite we are also playing the PGA Tour course ranked in the top 10 courses in Spain.
We also have some exciting social events to be announced as the season progresses for your added enjoyment.  I would encourage you to participate in as many as is possible.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors in this special year and indeed all of our sponsors throughout the past thirty years. Without your generous support we would not have the great society that we have to-day. I would also like to thank the committee for their unyielding efforts and hard work  that has gone into making our society the success that it is to-day.
I also wish to acknowledge the support and encouragement we continue to receive from our patron The Clontarf Castle Hotel.
I look forward to recalling  memories from the past, and there are many. I have no doubt we will create a few new ones as the year unfolds.
