Spain Trip Results & Outing Report

Another fabulous trip to the Spanish Costa del Sol over. And what a trip it was! Superbly organised once again by our dedicated committee members, Sean Guirke, Philip McGowan & Michael Brennan; we extend a great hand of thanks to them for the huge effort put into making the trip run like clockwork. A wonderful night was had by all in the Gira Sol restaurant. By all accounts this has been the best away trip yet! Take a look at the wonderful selection of photos Philip McGowan has put together, capturing all the atmosphere on and off the golf course, plus the good humour & cameraderie of the members.

No holes in one, but on the winners podium this year was Jim Stanley with a great score of 36 points on the magnificent Rio Real course. First runner up was Larry Gordon with 35 points just pipping Sean McKeon on a countback. Congratulations go to all the prize winners.

In the Player of the Year; Andy Flynn is the leading man with a lead of 9 points over Liam DeRenzy with Sean Guirke just 2 points back. Chasing Seans are Louis O’Carroll & Mick Sludds just one & two points respectively further back.  Just 13 points now cover the top 4 players. The closest of the chasing field are Jim Stanley, Vincent Clarke & Stephen Tucker with  a few points to make up on the leading five.  With just 1 event left to play it’ll be a fight to the finish!
