Captain’s Day St. Anne’s

With one great outing after another, isn’t the year just flying by!  Captain Malachy Menton’s Day was no exception in St. Anne’s Golf Club.  The day was fantastic from start to finish.  The course was in fine condition and the weather was fair despite one haymaker which failed to dampen the spirits. St. Anne’s did an excellent job on the catering and we had a great evening’s entertainment.

Huge thanks to Malachy and Ecomod for sponsoring the day, which included some much needed refreshments on the 10th.  Thanks also to Gary McGrane, our society pro, for spending the morning at the chipping green with our members.

Congratulations to Martin Kenny who wins the Captain’s Prize and Cup with an excellent score of 38 points.  Great scores also for Paul Fennelly in 2nd place with 39 points and Ray Hughes in 3rd place with 38 points.  Full results as follows:

Breakfast will be available in the golf club from 9.00am.  Prize presentation will be in Knight’s Bar in Clontarf Castle at 7.30pm.  Please ensure the starter knows if you cannot attend.

Please remember, to ensure speed of play when playing strokeplay, if in doubt, play a provisional ball – nobody wants that lonely walk back for a reload!  This will help ensure you keep up with the group in front.
