October Newsletter

Dear Member,
The year to date has been a huge success for the society and as ever the away trip to Spain chalked up another plus in this years calendar. I won’t bore you with the details, if you were there you know exactly what I mean. If you were unfortunate enough to have missed it get your name down early for a brand new experience in 2014.

SAN ROQUE
This is an exceptional golf course which proved a tough challenge. The greens proved to be extremely difficult to read if you were lucky enough to get there with a chance of a putt.
Paul webb proved to be the exception and carded 37 points, three clear of Shay Fleming on 35 with Sean Guirke clinching third place with 34 points.
Congratulations to Paul on a great win at San Roque. Paul was voted the most enthusiastic golfer on this years tour being the most punctual member .
Paul would like to thank his playing partners at San Roque Michael Norton,Andy Flynn and Grellan Murray who were great fun to play with but did nothing to help him win.

SANTA CLARA

Looks like our handicap committee are doing good work when you consider the difference between the winners and runners-up was point one.
Winning team with a score of 59.7    Bob Fagan-Sean Guirke-Grellan Murray-Ray Burke
Runners-up with a score of 59.8        Neill O Reilly-Derek Emerson-Andy Flynn- Barry Murray

PORTMARNOCK LINKS

Our final outing takes us to an old favourite sponsored this year by Stephen Mooney and Joe O Flaherty. Our thanks to Joe and Stephen for their generosity.

Time-sheet  night. 24th. October at 8.00pm until 9.30pm
Green-fee €60.00. Pay on the night and you only pay €50.00 (between 8 to 9.30)

Outing 2nd. November
Tee -time  8.57am until 11.30am

We have used Puerto Banus as a base for the past number of years and the general feeling is that we should try a new venue for 2014. We have a few ideas however we gladly welcome your suggestions. And forget Las Vegas, Bangkok or even Florida. The Irish divorce courts are already doing a steady trade without the membership adding to the queue.

SOCIAL NIGHT
The evening comes complete with food and entertainment at no cost to members and partners. Billed as a swing night (not swingers I understand there is a difference) with the music and songs from Frank Sinatra. Put it in your diary for Friday December the 6th. at 8.00pm.

Yours sincerely
Michael Brennan
