OCTOBER-NOVEMBER Newsletter

Dear Member.

The members who travelled to Portugal this year must have felt very much at home weather wise. Beautiful sunshine followed by torrential rain which has been a feature at a number of outings this year followed us to the Algarve. However judging by the reports it failed to dampen the enthusiasm and spirit of the 45 tourists who took part in this years pilgrimage.

The outing to Laranjal was played in the sunshine with Shay Fleming and Conor Gallagher both scoring 37 points, with Shay taking the honours on a count back .Stephen Tucker just one off the pace clinched third place.

THE CLASSES

I would also like to mention Michael Chambers and Shea O Connell who were visitors on our away trip and I trust that you both enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed yours.

Our thanks to Bob Fagan and Ailesbury & Ashbury Retirement Homes for his very generous sponsorship of the Laranjal outing.

On behalf of all who travelled I would like to thank Sean McKeon for kindly arranging San Lorenzo ,considered to be in the top two courses in Portugal. It presented a great opportunity to play this fantastic course at an extremely affordable green-fee.
The members who participated were also very grateful for the very nice San Lorenzo goodies that Sean organized.

For those brave souls who ventured out on Quinta South on a day that had more in common with the launching of the Ark. Well done! I have checked our insurance policy and unfortunately it does not cover the type of medical assistance that you so obviously require.

A special note of thanks to Tony Buckley who as ever made this a flawless trip for all who travelled. You will be pleased to know that the trip for 2016 is in the final stages of planning and will be announced shortly.

Our thanks to Eamon Fay who is our sponsor for this event.

We ask that all of our members endeavour to support both the golf and the social night.
We owe it to our patrons Clontarf Castle who have given us tremendous support over the years and we would not have the society that now exists without their generosity.
