San Roque & Estepona, Spain

Our 2023 away trip to Spain was a tremendous success. Staying in the beautiful El Pilar hotel in the heart of a bustling Estepona we had a wonderful selection of eateries and watering holes on our doorstep.  The hotel staff were friendly and efficient and we wanted for nothing.

Our main outing was of course our trip to San Roque, kindly sponsored by Jack McHugh and Alucraft, where we played the revamped Old Course.  Not only was the course in pristine condition, but we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff.  We were treated to some lovely canapes at the halfway mark and each of us were given a San Roque water bottle as a souvenir.  Despite the ideal weather and beautiful condition, the course still proved a very tough challenge.

Congratulations to Fraser McMullen who produce a wonderful winning score of 32 points, narrowly beating myself in to second place, pipping Pat Foley by a further stroke. Well done to all the prize winners, full results as follows:

1st – Fraser McMullen (19) – 32pts
