Dear Member,
Our thanks and appreciation to Tony Casey and BMW for their sponsorship at St. Annes. The course was in great condition and proved to be quite challenging. With the occasional gusts of wind thrown into the mix it made everyone work that bit harder to keep the scratches from their scorecards.
The eventual and well deserved winner on the day Ian Mackey recorded a very respectable 39 points to take the honours. Second and third places went to Kevin Griffin on 37 points and Dominic Murray with 36 points.

BALTRAY OUTING
The links players can put away their buckets and spades following our final seaside outing for this part of the season scheduled for the 19th. of May. Without question Baltray is a society favourite. Bearing in mind the number of times we have played this wonderful course I’m surprised that some of us have not developed a Louth accent.
The time-sheet will be available on Thursday the 11th. May from 8.00pm. until 9.30pm.
The green-fee if paid on the night is €65 including the 2s and NTP. Members paying after the time-sheet closes will have to pay €75.
Please note you may have another member pay on your behalf. However members who are present will get priority on the time-sheet.
The sponsor for the Baltray outing is Tadgh O Meara and Kish Fish. We are extremely grateful to Tadgh for his continued generous sponsorship.
REMINDER
Members must pay the appropriate green-fee before teeing off. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the competition. This applies to all society outings.
ROSSES POINT.
Please note that members who are on the time-sheet for this outing must pay for their selected one or two day package at the Baltray time-sheet night. As explained in the text sent to you this morning we are over subscribed for this outing. The golf course and hotel have requested final numbers by Friday of this week in an effort to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend.
It is imperative therefore that payment is received no later than Thursday.
FINALLY
Chris Brayden past Captain and former member sadly passed away on Friday last following a long battle with Cancer. He was one of the leading lights of the society during its formative years and was hands on with all society activities. During that time Chris worked as general manager at the Castle and was the societies first Honorary secretary. He worked tirelessly on the committee and devoted many hours of his time writing and phoning members to keep them informed and up to date as texting and email had yet to arrive.
His contribution all those years ago helped to create the very successful society that we all enjoy to-day.
Our prayers and thoughts are with Chris, his wife Irene and the family at this sad time.
Chris Brayden. Captain 1992. May he rest in peace.
Michael Brennan.
Honorary secretary.
