I hope there was not too much disappointment over cancelling our outing to Laytown & Bettystown GC, but I think we can all agree it was the correct decision. The good news is that next up is our regular pilgrimage to the hugely popular County Louth GC in Baltray. Those of you who had transferred €55.00 for the Laytown Bettystown outing please only transfer €40.00 to cover your Baltray fee. As always, if you transfer fees please be sure to say who/what you are paying in the narrative, and advise committee by text to 087 2471784. Seapoint GC Results Our first outing of the season was a long overdue return to this quality links course, Seapoint GC, kindly sponsored by Cian Bennis & Annesley Williams/SKODA. We had a great turnout with 60 golfers booked in on sign-on night. It was a tough windy day, with some great scoring. It’s wonderful to see so many supporting the society and sponsor of the day Cian by staying for the presentation. We begin each year with our traditional first outing, playing for the Jack Guirke Memorial Trophy in remembrance of our late society members. How fitting then, that the winner of the trophy in Seapoint is Jack Guirke, grandson of the late Jack Guirke who is the first name on the trophy, with an excellent score of 39 points. Kieran Montgomery took 2nd place and sponsor Cian Bennis in third, both with 37 points. Well done to all prize winners, including some new members and full results are as follows: |
