The annual outing to the County Louth Golf Club in Baltray was held on Friday 20th May.

The two time Irish Open course was in mint condition throughout and gave our members a welcome challenge. The society played off the green tees in anticipation of the forecast wind and rain which only partly materialised throughout the day but didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the magnificent course.

Out of the pack came our winner Frazer McMullen on 38 points followed by Conor Gallagher on 36 points and Michael Connolly with 35 points on a count back. This represented the first win in the Society for Frazer and one which was all the more welcome on his road to full recovery.

A good crowd of members stayed for dinner in the restaurant which also provided a great breakfast and never fails to impress with the standard of its food, service and value. Both Stephen (Ward) and Martin (Kenny) are members of this great club.

Most of these members stayed for the prize presentation by Brendan (Fagan) and Stock Design who presented a fine array of prizes and this was followed up by his now customary gift to all attending. It was further noted that Brendan has been a sponsor of the society for some 20 years and this was warmly welcomed by all present.

The general consensus was that the day was a great success.

Rosapenna Schedule

Next up is our trip to Rosapenna in Donegal. The date is the Bank holiday w/e in June, arriving Friday evening 3rd June, returning Monday 6th, golf Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th.
