JUNE Newsletter

It is always a pleasure to write my report on our outing to Baltray golf club. This venue never fails to fill the time-sheet and remains a firm favourite with our members. our thanks to Captain Stephen Ward for the complimentary scone and coffee. The €5 breakfast  proved to be very popular resulting in Bryan Kenny having to beat people out of the restaurant to get them onto the first tee.

Our sincere thanks to Tadgh O Meara and Kish Fish for their generous sponsorship.
I recall remarking to Dominic Mann who helped carry the prizes in to the club house “thats the only time today that your going to have a hamper in your mitts”. The comment obviously inspired him.

LOUGH ERNE

A brand new venue for the society and our thanks to Enda O Meara and Clontarf Castle for their help in arranging this fantastic course for the society. Unfortunately we are too far from Clontarf Castle to return there for the prize presentation and will have to settle for the venue where the G8 now the G7 was convened. Sounds like a boy band that has lost its lead singer. If it was good enough for Barack and Vladimir we will do our best to cope .
Our sponsors for Lough Erne are Stephen Mooney and Joe O Flaherty.

SLOW PLAY.
This thorny issue continues to be a problem at outings. While we are not involved in a race to the 18th. or for some the 19th. it is important to remember we are all out to enjoy our day. Please do not lose ground to the players ahead of you. Bryan Kenny will take no pleasure in showing you a red card and reducing your score if you arrive at the eighteenth green while the four-ball who finished ahead of you are on their second pint in the bar.

MALLORCA

Payment is now due for this event. Please ensure that your payment in full is paid no later than the 30th.June.

BRIAN BORO TROPHY
The top twelve members in Player of the year after the Druids Glen outing will qualify to represent the society in the Brian Boro competition which takes place on Friday the 26th. September.

OTHER NEWS
It has been brought to the attention of the committee that some members have been overheard airing a less than favourable view in the changing room of the venue played. We are all entitled to express our opinion however please be aware that club members may be present and may be insulted at the views expressed. If you had a bad day talk to yourself about it on the way home in the car.

Yours sincerely.
