June Newsletter

Dear Member,

Baltray

In this, our 31st year of the society, we returned to County Louth Golf Club for the 26th occasion – that says a lot on how we all feel about Baltray.  True to that, we had another fantastic day out and everything ran like clockwork.  Bar and catering were excellent as always. The course was in great condition and combined with the weather to offer us a tough test.

Nonetheless, with 60 golfers teeing it up in the National Lighting sponsored outing, there were some fine scores returned.  Bragging rights go to Mick Chambers who had an excellent score of 38 points, winning on a countback over Noel McGrane in second place and Joe Enright in third place.  Very well done to them and all our prize winners listed below.

It was great to see over 50 members staying for the prize presentation, which is a show of respect to Captain Malachy and our sponsor, Mick Slein of National Lighting.   Huge appreciation to Mick Slein for sponsoring this outing once again, and laying on a fine display of wine prizes.  Be sure to contact Mick for any of your lighting needs and don’t forget, if you have a voucher from last year’s outing, Mick has kindly offered to honour these.

Into The West, 6th to 9th June 2019

Our trip to Carne and Enniscrone, kindly sponsored by Gallagher Quigley Estate Agents, is next up. We have a full complement of 61 members travelling, which is a big group for Bryan to organise so please ensure you are on the tee 15 mins before your tee time and hand in your card in the clubhouse after each game.

As previously advised we are having a combined two day event to win the prizes, as in, your singles stableford score from Carne carries forward to Enniscrone, we will have extra prizes for each day, handicap will remain constant for both days.
Note for Player of the Year, to be fair to those not travelling, Carne score only will be recorded for PoY, and Enniscrone score will be discarded.
