June 2025 Newsletter

Those of us lucky enough to make it to County Louth GC in Baltray will agree, there is a very good reason why we go back here every year!  The course was in immaculate condition from tee to green.  This is a top class links course and we got to play it on a beautiful day.  Staff and catering did not disappoint with the usual top quality fare available before and after golf.

Generously sponsored by Mick Slein & National Lighting, the outing produced some decent scoring on a quality links course. Congratulations to Jack Guirke, taking 1st place with an excellent score of 38 points, with Brian O’Callaghan and John Lacey taking 2nd & 3rd place with a great score of 37 points. Back to back wins for Jack has him leading the POY for this year, but also earned him an extra little trim, now playing 6 shots less than the start of the year.

Well done to all prize winners, full results are as follows:

Enniscrone & Rosses Point 4 – 7 June 25

Our away trip to the west is almost upon us and all balance payments have been received, thank you all.

Don’t forget, this is a two-day event so your score carries over from Enniscrone to Rosses Point, with prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd, class prizes & seniors for best combined scores, with a prize also for the best score each day. All prizes generously sponsored by Conor & Rory Gallagher of Gallagher Quigley Estate Agents, and don’t forget, the best dressed golfer over the 2 days gets a prize! Enniscrone is the outing that will count towards POY and there will be a nearest-the-pin on this course, kindly sponsored by Michael Brennan and Tara Lane.

Time sheets for both days, up to date at time of writing, as follows:

Other news

Dave and Mantan Walshe were disappointed that they couldn’t make our Baltray outing.  Turns out they had somewhere else to be, checking out the next Ryder Cup venue. Looking good lads!
