Another CCGS season came to a close with our annual outing to The Links, Portmarnock, kindly sponsored by Joe O’Flaherty of Flynn & O’Flaherty Construction. The Links did not fail to impress as always, in great condition, with the new layout proving a challenge for most. The weather was decent and we had a great turnout for the day. |
Congratulations to Sean Finnegan who produced a fantastic score of 35 points to win the outing. Great scores also for our sponsor Joe O’Flaherty, with Hugh Ward finishing third with 35 points. Congratulations to the matchplay winners, Mantan Walsh in the singles, with Kevin Maher runner-up. The fourball matchplay had to be postponed for this year due to injury and we wish Tadgh O’Meara a speedy return to golf so that he & Mick Chambers can take on Joe Enright & Mick Kenny early next year, once again kindly sponsored by John Plunkett & Brian Kirwan of Plunkett Kirwan & Co Solicitors. |

AGM 2024 |
Please note that our Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 18 January 2024 in The Indigo Lounge, Clontarf Castle, 8.00pm sharp. Proposals and motions must be submitted in writing to the Honorary secretary no later than Sunday 7 January 2024. |
Membership 2024 |
Application forms for renewing members will be available on the website from 1 January 2024. Please complete your application form and forward it to honsec@ccgs.ie along with advice of your payment please. Closing date for receipt of applications and payment is 31st January 2024. |
As is the case every year, it will not be known if there are any vacancies for new membership until all renewing members application forms have been received. Application forms will be available for new membership applications on the CCGS website from 1 January 2024, accessible by members only. To be considered for membership of the society, fully completed application forms for new members must be returned to the hon sec by 31 January 2024, complete with payment as per the application form. Successful applicants will be advised before the first outing. If unsuccessful, payment and application will be returned in full. The fees for new applications will be €300 joining fee plus €200 subscription. The fees for those aged under 35 on 1st January 2024 is €150 subscription only. Note: A member of the society may not propose nor second the nomination of a new member until completion of their third year as a member. Committee members may not propose nor second new applications. |

On behalf of our Captain elect, Paul Traynor and committee, it gives me great pleasure to bring you information and dates for next year’s outings, with some wonderful venues, returning to old favourites and visiting new venues also. I would like all to pay particular attention to our away trips to Cork & Cambrils as action from you is required! |
Sutton Golf Club – Friday 29th March (Good Friday), Tee from 9.30. Congratulations to our very own Cian Bennis, incoming captain in Sutton next year. Cian Bennis & Aubrey Woolfson are sponsoring. More details to follow. St. Anne’s Golf Club – Friday 26th April, tee from 10.30, sponsor Philip Scallan, Stoneseal. Well known to us all, a superb links course and will be popular with society members. County Louth Golf Club, Baltray – Friday 17th May, tee from 9.30, Sponsor Michael Slein, National Lighting. Our sponsors, Conor & Rory Gallagher, and I are delighted to bring this superb new venue to our society, designed by Augusta’s genius Alister MacKenzie and recently enhanced for the modern golfer. Cork Golf Club is sculpted from historic limestone quarries and unfolds magnificently along the banks of the City’s Inner Harbour. A special place since 1888. We are offering this as a one night / one game of golf package, we will leave it to all you well-travelled guys to build your own weekend / extra golf around this one night, as you see fit. I am sure you are all aware Druids has completed extensive upgrades recently and their aim is to be known as the best parkland in Europe. |

We are delighted to bring you another new venue for our away trip to Spain. Travelling to Cambrils, this upmarket seaside resort situated next to Salou on the Costa Dorado has bars and restaurants galore and is only 15 mins drive to The Infinitum Golf resort which has been twice voted European Golf resort of the year. Staying 4 nights in the Sol Port Cambrils hotel, we are playing 2 games on the lakes course and one game on the Hills course. The cost, twin sharing B&B is an incredible €590, including buggies & presentation meal. Single supplement for the 4 nights is total €130.
