Handicaps after Co. Sligo Outing
Here are the Handicaps after our outing to Co. Sligo Golf Club
A bright sunny Friday, a superb golf course and a very enthusiastic group of young fellows set the mood for our 20th. annual visit to Baltray in Co. Louth. Looking at the horrible weather conditions we endured throughout that week one could be forgiven for thinking “would the course be anchored somewhere off the Welsh coast”?
Hugh Ward of Hugh J Ward & Co.Solicitors sponsored the day and presented a superb selection of wines to the lucky few. With the week that was in it I suppose you could say he performed something of a miracle by managing to turn water into wine. The clouds parted the rains ceased and we were rewarded with a beautiful day that brought our golfing cream to the top, so to speak.
Tony Buckley accepts his prize for winning the Baltray Outing from Sean Guirke (on behalf of Hugh Ward Solicitors) & Captain Michael Connolly
Tony Buckley (40) narrowly shaded Sean Furlong (39) by a solitary point to take first prize. Frazer McMullen (35) held his nerve and edged out a group of three snapping at his heels on 34 points to take third prize. Classes One, Two and Three were all won with 34 points by Tony Judge, Stephen Mooney and Alan Leonard respectively.
The Front nine went to Captain Michael Connolly and the Back nine was won by Derek Mooney.
Congratulations to all of our winners and our gratitude to Hugh for his generous sponsorship.
