WOODENBRIDGE & ROYAL DUBLIN

Dear Member.

I think you will agree that the Stroke-play cup at the Woodenbridge outing was yet another hugely successful outing for the society, particularly if your name is Michael Connolly.
Congratulations to Michael and all of the winners who battled a field of sixty plus over a challenging eighteen holes to get into the winners enclosure.

This wonderful and beautifully manicured golf course was no push over and brought out the best and the worst in the competitors. It gives high handicappers great heart when you hear single figure golfers saying “I lipped out for a ten “.
Even pars were hard to come by on greens with holes that had more in common with Job Centres with your ball firmly stating “If you think I am going in there forget it” and promptly veering away from its intended target.

Congratulations to our sponsor Louis O Carroll & Care Cabs and many thanks for the wonderful prizes. And don’t forget if you need a special cab Louis is the man to call.
It would be nice to give something back to our sponsors who give so generously and expect nothing in return.

I would also like to thank Clontarf Castle Hotel for their kindness in hosting our prize presentation in the Indigo Bar and providing the well received finger food.
