Mount Juliet

Another fabulous day out to one of our long-time favourites, Mount Juliet, for the Stock Design sponsored outing.  Many thanks to Brendan Fagan for his sponsorship and his wonderful array of prizes.  The course was in splendid condition, the weather beautiful and we were looked after superbly in their wonderful facilities.

With Stevie Wonder in town that weekend, it is no wonder that our own Stevie Mooney triumphed in Mount Juliet with a tremendous score of 37 points.  Congratulations to Stephen on his great win and to Tony Judge in second place and to Dominic Murray in third place, beaten on countbacks.  Full scoring is as follows:

Captain’s Day – St. Anne’s

This Friday 16th August we have some 72 members signed up to play in this year’s Captain’s Day at St. Anne’s.  At time of writing, the forecast is improving, so fingers crossed!

Please remember to check in with Bryan 15 minutes prior to your designated time.

Breakfast will be available from 9.00am.

Gary McGrane, the society pro, has kindly offered to give us a short game clinic and possibly some one-to-one instruction around the chipping green.  Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to hone your skills before tee off and don’t forget to keep Gary in mind for your next lesson.  His number is 085 1602754.
We meet for Captain’s drinks upstairs in Member’s Bar at 7.30pm followed by dinner at 8.30pm in the Palmer Room along with prizegiving and entertainment.  Dress code for dinner is jacket and no jeans please.

A reminder also that to compete for the main prize members must have played in two outings this year.  Also, members in their first year may not compete for the main prize.

Wishing Captain Malachy Menton a successful Captain’s Day!
