Captain’s Day St. Anne’s

Well done to Captain Ian Mackey and St. Anne’s Golf Club for laying on a wonderful day, sponsored by CCGS.  The course was in excellent condition and the catering & staff were superb for the day, particularly the evening meal & prize presentation.

Congratulations to Enda Guirke who produced a wonderful score of 39 points to claim the Captain’s Prize.  Damien T Murran had an outstanding 42 points, claiming second place as he didn’t qualify to win the Captain’s this year, with third place going to Brian Purcell on a countback with 38 points.  Well done to all the prize winners, full results as follows:

Luttrellstown Strokeplay Championship

Luttrellstown Golf Club is a beautiful parkland course and was in perfect condition on the day for us to compete for our annual strokeplay medal.  Sponsored by John Gaffney of P&J Gaffney and Shay Fleming, the weather held out reasonably well enough to ensure a lovely day was had by all.

Scoring was competitive and congratulations to Derek Erskine who wins the gold medal with a fantastic score of 69, with our Captain Ian taking second place with a score of 73 and third place going to Sean Guirke with a score of 74 on a countback.  Full results as follows:

Killeen Castle Golf Club

Next up for the society is a trip to the world class Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, Killeen Castle, kindly sponsored by Brendan Fagan & Stock Design.  Don’t miss sign on this Thursday evening at 8.00pm in The Indigo Lounge in The Clontarf Castle.

POY Latest News

With 5 outings now played and just 3 more remaining, the POY standings couldn’t be tighter at the top, with Shay Fleming & Jack Guirke tied on 142 points and Kevin Maher & Ian Mackey hot on their heels on 132 points.  Plenty to play for yet!
