April Newsletter

Dear Member.

David Attenborough talks about it all the time, probably comes from hanging out with those Penguins in Antarctica. Yes it’s that bloody wind chill factor thats the talk of the nation and has scuppered our golfing careers over the past few months. I suppose it could be one of the reasons why there are no golf courses in Antarctica.

Hopefully our outing to Baltray on Thursday the 18th. April will be played in conditions more suited to the Med. as opposed to the Baltic. with not a Penguin in sight. However I still recommend a few Novenas that we get Med. like conditions and a few prayers will do no harm to our prospects. I am also pleased to advise that the Memorial Trophy will be competed for at  Baltray as it will be the first outing this year.

Our Thanks to Larry and Liam who will now sponsor Baltray in place of Hugh Ward of Hugh J Ward and Co. Solicitors. Hugh had kindly agreed to sponsor our ill fated Portmarnock outing which fell victim to the weather twice in the space of ten days. Firstly to the rain then the snow, I still think we should have tried third time lucky to see if we could attract a plague of locusts or frogs.
