A welcome from Stephen Ward, Captain 2014

Dear Fellow Member,

It is a privilege and honour for me to be elected Captain of Clontarf Castle Golf Society for 2014 and I hope I serve the Society well in the coming year.

I’d like to welcome Tony Judge back to the Committee as vice-captain for 2014 and also to welcome Shay Fleming to the Committee. I’m sure Tony will pass on best wishes to the 2014 Ryder Cup Captain from all at Clontarf Castle Golf Society.

A special thanks to all our Sponsors. The Society is extremely grateful and appreciative for your kindness and generosity.

As usual the Committee has worked hard over the winter months to arrange a wonderful array of top-class golf courses for 2014. In particular, I’d like to thank Philip McGowan, Tony Buckley, Michael Brennan and Sean Guirke for their effort and commitment in getting great courses at really keen rates for 2014.

The courses are a mix of new and old. New courses include Arklow, Carlow (new to some at least) and Lough Erne and also Mallorca as a new location for the Away Trip in October. The ‘older’ courses are Baltray, Mount Juliet, Druid’s Glen, Royal Dublin and the Portmarnock Links.

Please do your best to get to as many outings as you can. We are Blessed to be members of such a wonderful Golf Society so enjoy your golf and even more importantly enjoy the company.
