Carton House Strokeplay Championship

The Society enjoyed a wonderful day at Carton House, with both the weather and golfing conditions contributing to a successful outing.  Kindly sponsored by John Gaffney of P & J Gaffney Ltd, the course was presented in excellent condition and we were well catered for despite the busyness of the club due to The Legends Tour being there that weekend.

Some of our own legends were in action on the day, not least of whom was Larry Gordon who turned in the best score with an excellent nett 71. Seán Reid was second with a nett 72 and Brian O’Callaghan took 3rd spot with a nett 34. Well done to all the prize winners on the day, full details as follows:

Captain’s Day Malahide Golf Club

Captain Tony Clarke is delighted to bring the society to Malahide Golf Club for his Captain’s prize, sponsored by The Captain and Clontarf Castle Golf Society. The outing will be on Friday 14 August, tee times from 11.00am.

We will be meeting at 7.30pm for dinner at 8.00pm sharp.  Members must have played 2 outings in this season to qualify for winning the Captain’s prize. Members in their first year may not win the Captain’s prize.

Time sheet night will be held on Thursday, 6 August 2026  8:00 p.m. in The Indigo Lounge, Clontarf Castle. Green fee of €85.00 includes your evening meal, charity donation and two’s competition. Please make payment by EFT before the sign on night and as always, timesheet preference will be given to those in attendance.

Matchplays
